All over the world people are rebelling against their governments, some with guns, some in other ways. Moreover, these rebellions are not only occurring against ruthless totalitarian governments; they are occurring against democracies too. Something is happening that we don’t fully understand. Everywhere people are angry with tyrants and low performing politicians posing as leaders.

When modern democracy was created in America about 240 years ago, we thought that it was the future of the world. In addition, we thought that it was just and reliable. But, it hasn’t always worked out that way. Instead, in some ways, our noble experiment in governance has degenerated into something our founding fathers couldn’t have imagined.

When was our last great leader? Why is it so difficult to find true leaders? Why are our choices so limited? What can we do to fix it, if anything?

As we enter the home stretch of the presidential election in America, these are questions on many people’s minds. Moreover, they are legitimate and justified questions. In their grabs for power and position, professional politicians have done more than let us down; they have perpetuated an unrepresentative and rigged system. They have become the problem!
