famous Mark Twain quote "When in doubt, tell the truth" on blackboard

Why is the news always filled with disasters? Why aren’t we making more progress in the world? Why do new problems always  come up? Is this a permanent condition of humanity or is there something we can do about it?

The new socio-economic model of Potentialism shows how we can do something about it. It shows that the problems of the world can be solved and new ones can often be prevented. In addition, it demonstrates that we all have far more potential than we ever reach. We don’t reach our potential because we are inhibitited by forces we don’t understand, don’t recognize, or can’t control.

One of those forces is dogma. Every day we read blatantly slanted articles from journalists on the left or right. Even neutral news events take on an ideological coloration. Unfortunately, the answers to our problems are not in more dogma. We need intellectual honesty. We need to stop focusing on our differences and finally understand and celebrate our commonalities.

We need to stop focusing on our differences and finally understand and celebrate our commonalities.
Accordingly, the Potentialism Beacon will take a higher road and publish articles from both the left and the right. The truth is usually somewhere in between. In addition, the Beacon will produce original articles and commentaries of its own. Columnists and guest authors will illuminate our commonalities and suggest pragmatic and humane solutions to our problems. We hope you will join us.
