When we asked our friend Lasta to share her experience on the ground, she said, “I have no words.”
So we thought we’d let her photographs tell this tragic story. Lasta’s home – once a beautiful, historic structure – now is reduced rubble. She and her family found another safe place to live, but the aftershocks have not subsided. GlobalHouse has been in close communication with Lasta, doing our best to help her through this terrible time.
And “no words” can describe the tragic loss of Lasta’s beautiful sister and her one year old nephew who died in the earthquake. Lives can never be rebuilt. Our hearts are with Lasta and her family as they try to recover from their devastating losses. Keep them in your thoughts.
