On the day of the earthquake, GlobalHouse began broadcasting news on Facebook about two programs that lets people in Nepal sign in on social media (Google People Finder and Facebook Safety Check) to let others know that they are safe. These tools gave us at GlobalHouse piece of mind when we learned our friends were safe, so we wanted to share them widely with our Nepali Facebook followers. We had over 17,000 direct responses and they forwarded the information to many others. We estimate we reached more than 40,000 Nepalis.
